How to Fix a Paper Jam Error in Your Canon Printer

Paper Jam Error can occur in Canon printers for a number of reasons. When you are printing something important and the printer paper gets jammed, it can bother you to the worst level. Paper jams persist in all brands of printers but with proper knowledge, you can solve the problem. In this article, we have discussed how to fix Canon printer paper jams by implementing some best practices.

Following are the Ways to Resolve the Canon Printer Jam Issue:-

Remove the paper stuck in the Loading Tray:-

If any Paper Jam Error removes it from the loading tray. Then press the Resume button which is located on the front of the printer. If a sheet of paper is stuck inside the printer, gently remove one sheet at a time rather than removing all of the paper. Don’t forget to check for any leftover pieces of paper inside the printer.

Clear the Paper Jam Error from the back of the printer:-

To clear the Paper Jam Error from the back of the printer, you need to follow two steps-

A. Removing rear access panel –

Locate the knob on the back of the printer. If the Access tab is not present, move the knob to the unlocked position. Next, remove the rear access panel and then gently pull the paper out of the Canon printer. If small pieces of paper are present then carefully remove them. Finally, secure and replace the rear access panel.

B. Remove two-sided printing accessory –

First, you have to press the release button located on either end of the module at the same time. Then remove the panel and carefully remove the jammed paper. Don’t forget to remove a small piece of paper, if there is one. Then put the module in its proper place.

Then press the button on the top of the module and open the door. Then remove the panel and then carefully remove the jammed paper canon printer. Finally, close the rear module door.

Pull the paper out from the front cover:

If the above steps didn’t help you, try removing the Paper Jam Error from the printer with proper care by pulling it off the front cover.

Check Print Carriage:

To test whether the printer carriage can operate independently, you will need to unplug the power cord from the power outlet and then disconnect the printer from power.

Now watch the carriage if it can move all the way to the right side of the printer and out of sight. If the carriage is stuck then don’t use your force to move the carriage as this may damage your printer.

Carefully remove the ink cartridge and remove all papers from the loading tray. Also, remove the double-sided printing accessory.

Using your fingers, rotate the rollers for three complete rotations.

Replace the double-sided printing accessory, and ink cartridge, and plug your printer back in.

Reload and Test the Printer :

Place some inkjet papers in a paper tray and slide them into place. Then do a self-test by printing a test page. Typically, a print test is performed by pressing and holding the Resume button until your Canon printer begins to print.
